When man is in connection with nature he has a symbiotic relationship. Rainbow or nature is symbolically shown as a hope of better future. Nature, as depicted by the rainbow, is immortal while the man being mortal is depicted in three stages of being as the child, youth and old aged. We should be hopeful connecting with nature which gives hope of a better future. In our children we see our future.their innocence is the creative future. Here the word “father” means “one from whom something begins”. If there is no rainbow in the sky of our life there is no hope for a beautiful future ahead and that itself is equal to death. When we grow up we feel hopeful by mystical experience of nature which promises better days ahead.Įven when we grow old, looking at a rainbow we are seeing the promising future generations. When we are born we get elated seeing such a magical scene create by nature.

Rainbow is a symbol of Life, a promise of future…when a child sees it he is filled with ecstatic joy. There is a child in all of us.When we see a rainbow our heart is joyous. We are soothed by the promise of better days ahead. The poet William Wordsworth ponders over the future of innocence and faith in the quest of growing up in his poem RAINBOW.We can easily relate to the poem our present day scenario where we all are striving hard for a shining future ahead. A man today was a child yesterday and a child today will be a man tomorrow.
